Water Tank Relocation ‐ Design and Installation
Here at Inspec we enjoy a challenge. Recently our client asked us to relocate a large waste water tank; a project involving skills not necessarily considered to be within our usual field of expertise. Time was extremely limited and there were special circumstances which needed to be considered. However, our client trusted us to undertake the works and so we set to it.
The task was on a design, procure, build and install basis meaning we would be responsible for all necessary surveys and site investigation, compilation of data, design, installation and testing of the tank. The existing tank was in constant use containing water varying in temperature from 35o to 90oC. This meant special consideration had to be given to the health and safety of the current workforce as well as our own teams when removing the tank and its associated pipework. We were also working against the clock as the client had a very small window for us to complete the project (a matter of weeks from start to finish).
The challenge was on ‐ the design was developed and a local manufacturer sourced to supply the vessel within the time allowed. Pipework and lagging was relocated and the vessel installed.
Our teams worked the hours required to satisfy the deadline and completed the project to the client's satisfaction. Another excellent project carried out without incident, within a rigid time frame and to our very high standards.
