Electrical System Design
Inspec worked with a global petrochemical manufacturer to develop the electrical infrastructure for a new chemical plant.
Inspec Systems was to be wholly responsible for the design of a best value solution for the total electrical distribution systems working from the client's feasibility study, as well as to the client's and International Standards / Codes of Practice. The scope of the new electrical works ran from an 11kV point of origin through a distribution transformer to 415V switchgear and MCCs, to multiple distribution boards for small power and lighting for both petrochemical plant and support building facilities including all cabling and support and containment systems. The works involved close liaison with the Client, and his nominated design and construction contractors.
The fundamental design included load studies, review of supply options, equipment sizing / specifications, protection studies, cable sizing and calculations. These design works led to the in-house production of all associated detailed drawings; single line diagrams, equipment locations, lighting / small power design layouts, cable schedules, supporting cable calculations, cable routing / support details, material lists, distribution boards layouts; earthing / lightning protection; construction work scopes.
The works followed though to technical support for on-site installation and commissioning works.
This project demonstrates the range of capabilities possessed by Inspec Systems and our ability to work with clients and agents at all levels to deliver the right solution on time and within budget.
