20 Years Throwback
As we continue the countdown to celebrate our 20th work anniversary in December, we are enjoying the opportunity to reminisce about Inspec Systems over the years and look back to our first significant project from 2005.
Having formed in December 2004 with just 3 members of staff, we hadn’t anticipated securing our first major project so soon after. But it was this pivotal project that swiftly catapulted Inspec into the industry we have continued to proudly serve across the UK over the past 20 years.
This scheme required Inspec Systems to design, install and commission a storage tank inventory and routing system for 16 tanks.
The installation included a new Siemens PLC and HMI control system with new tank level controls including safety rated high and low-level interlocks, hand shaking with production plant control systems and controlling batch transfers, trace heating, with part of the tank farm falling under the requirements of DSEAR/ATEX.
Combining all the usual elements of automation, functional safety, ATEX and integration into existing systems this project proved our capabilities and set us on course for delivering bigger and more complex systems.
We have been appointed many times over the years to develop and extend the original system and are proud to still work for the same client after all these years.
This project afforded us the opportunity to demonstrate our capability to deliver exceptional results and marked the beginning of our trajectory towards becoming a trusted name in our niche markets.
It was truly rewarding to realise that our reputation as trusted engineers preceded us, instilling confidence in clients across the industry.
